PARIS (AP) — On day two of Paris's distracted three days of haute couture collections, Chanel took the mould crowd to the skies and highlights included super-sexy, notable-filled Armani Prive.

Tuesday's haute couture shows felt more shallow than in previous seasons — perhaps owing to confidence after some fashion houses revealed rising sales figures during last year.

The Giorgio Armani Prive show was a glitzy intrigue and judging by its profits, it can afford to be: sales rose 50 percent in 2011 ignoring the sluggish economy.

Sitting on the front row of the Italian designer's show, US Vogue Collector Anna Wintour quipped: "Doesn't couture always buck the vogue?"

French mega-brand Chanel would certainly agree, billing its own couture show as the biggest marvel yet. Inside a reconstructed jumbo jet, guests — including many from Asia — were treated to a gaudy presentation.

Another of the day's big collections came from Givenchy, direct from the universe of its fantastic designer Riccardo Tisci, who led revellers around a curious and luxurious showing-like collection.

This necklace with the butterfly/rectangle carcanet was everything I foresee for and more. Enunciation was on conditions and the tip was well received. The only blemish I made was in not ordering two of them as the daughter has told the mom she is current to have to share out it with her!!!
